Community Investment Policy

Industrial Credit Union strongly believes in giving back to the communities that support us as a local credit union.

We are committed to those organizations, events, projects, and programs that adhere to the credit union philosophy of “people helping people.” We are proud to support our communities through volunteer work, fundraising, sponsorships and donations.

Community Investment Policy

Though there are an endless number of worthy organizations and events we would be honored to support, we have narrowed our scope to a few primary causes in order to maximize the impact of our resources. The following categories of giving represent Industrial CU’s primary focus; however, this list is not exhaustive and all requests are evaluated individually.

1. Financial Literacy

Causes that strive to improve lives through financial education and independence. Examples: community seminars, financial counseling and/or learning opportunities for people of all ages.

2. Hunger & Poverty Initiatives

Causes that focus on local hunger issues. For example, Industrial CU hosts the annual Feed the Need Community Food Drive benefiting Whatcom County food banks.

3. Family-Oriented Organizations and Events

Causes that promote or support our local families and/or provide opportunities for safe, fun and affordable family time. Additionally, causes that support underserved youth in the area.
