Why Join

If you live, work or worship anywhere in the state of Washington, you are eligible for membership at ICU. If you live outside of Washington, but are related to any of our current members you are also eligible.

Credit unions are not-for-profit financial cooperatives. We exist to serve our members, not make a profit. Unlike other financial institutions, credit unions do not issue stock or pay dividends to outside stockholders. Instead, earnings are returned to our members in the form of lower loan rates, higher dividends on deposit, and lower fees.

As a member of ICU, you are part-owner of the cooperative. You have the right to vote for your volunteer Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee. In fact, you could even run for a position that would help steer the Credit Union into the future. Each Credit Union member has equal ownership and one vote, regardless of the amount you have on deposit.
