Secure tomorrow by saving today. With an IRA account from ICU you'll be securely putting away money tax-free for the future creating a nest egg for you to live on during your golden years. ICU offers two types of IRA Accounts: Traditional and Roth. Traditional IRA
A Traditional IRA is available to anyone under the age of 70.5 who has income from earned compensation (or is filing jointly with a spouse who earns income). Earnings grow tax-deferred until withdrawn. Also, certain contributions may be tax deductible in the year they are made. For more detailed Traditional IRA information download this helpful brochure (PDF) Roth IRA
A Roth IRA is available to anyone who has income from earned compensation (or is filing jointly with a spouse who earns income) and who meets the IRS-defined income requirements. Regular contributions can be withdrawn tax and penalty free at any time. After five years, the earnings can also be withdrawn, tax and penalty free, based on certain conditions. Since Roth IRA contributions are non-deductible and taxed in the year they are earned, members who expect to be in a higher tax bracket when they retire may benefit more from a Roth IRA than from a traditional IRA. For more detailed ROTH IRA information download this helpful brochure (PDF) At ICU, either type of IRA can be deposited into an IRA Savings account or an IRA Certificate. As with all things involving the IRS, please consult a tax professional to determine which IRA will best meet your specific financial needs. IRA Shares are federally insured up to $250,000 by the National Credit Union Administration a U.S. Government Agency. |
